“You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment.”- Henry David Thoreau
Today is the first day of March. Spring is around the corner, and with that comes spring cleansing and the general sense of renewal and rebirth.
The trees will soon begin to bloom again. The flowers to follow shortly thereafter.
Anywhere you look there is a moment waiting to burst forth with new life.
It is this sense of life and renewal that I have been meditating on lately.
Someone once said that every second we experience a mini-rebirth within ourselves; that with every exhalation you are able to put the past to rest, and with every new breath you are able to choose your own amazing life.
“Live out of your imagination, not your history.”- Stephen Covey
“Worry is the misuse of your imagination.”- Dan Zadra
Funny how much of our present lives are spent recounting the countless moments that are past. They are in essence dead. Never to rise again in the history of time.
So why do we, why do I, spend so much of life dwelling on the past, or worrying about the future, instead of living and celebrating life for the now?
“A man who dares to waste one hour of time has not discovered the value of life.”- Charles Darwin
My question to you in this moment in time: Are you living for the now? Are you fully aware of the beauty that surrounds you in all its overwhelming, and often confusing, glory? Are you ready to stop reliving the frustrations of the past and worrying about tomorrow, and fully embrace this moment, right now, today?
What if this is your last exhalation… would your time be well spent?
Breathe in…. breathe out… now begin again.
What does your new life have in store for you?
